Trump Orders Fresh Iran Strikes, Seeks Tehran’s Surrender

According to The Wall Street Journal, cited by The Times of Israel, the strikes could begin as early as this weekend and continue for several days as part of a broader strategy to compel Iran to make concessions.

United States President Donald Trump has ordered a fresh wave of military strikes against Iran, escalating tensions between Washington and Tehran as his administration seeks to pressure the Islamic Republic into accepting its demands.

According to The Wall Street Journal, cited by The Times of Israel, the strikes could begin as early as this weekend and continue for several days as part of a broader strategy to compel Iran to make concessions.

The report, quoting US officials familiar with the planning, said military operations would target strategic sites aimed at degrading Iran’s defence capabilities and disrupting infrastructure that supports government and military operations.

Officials said the renewed campaign reflects the Trump administration’s view that previous, more limited military actions failed to achieve their objectives, prompting consideration of a more sustained operation.

The latest development marks another significant escalation in the months-long confrontation between the two countries, with the White House maintaining that increased military pressure is necessary to force Tehran to the negotiating table. Iran, however, has repeatedly rejected US demands and insists its nuclear programme is for peaceful purposes.
