Nollywood actress-turned-evangelist Tonto Dikeh has officially launched her own spiritual ministry, the New Wine Prophetic Tabernacle (NWPT), and taken the stage to preach at its early gatherings in Abuja.
On Sunday, August 9, 2026, Dikeh announced the ministry via Instagram, describing it as “an interdenominational altar, spiritual home, and global movement of consecrated believers called to experience the raw power, purity, and presence of God.” The name draws from Mark 2:22 (“And no one puts new wine into old wineskins”).
She emphasized that NWPT is not a conventional church. “This is not a church; it is an intense gathering of those consecrated and equipped for the purposes of God. A people set apart, refined by His presence, and commissioned to advance His Kingdom,” she stated. The vision centers on a global awakening of believers operating in God’s power to transform nations, while the mission focuses on building an altar of prayer, revival, and apostolic training that equips people, activates spiritual gifts, drives soul-winning, and delivers freedom through the Holy Spirit.
Weekly fellowships are scheduled every Friday at 6:00 PM at the Omini Grand Hotel (formerly Alexis Hotel), upstairs by Masalachi Junction, Jabi, FCT-Abuja.
Videos circulating on social media on August 10 show Dikeh preaching passionately at the new ministry in Abuja. Clips depict her taking the pulpit at the launch or early session of New Wine Prophetic Tabernacle, delivering a spirited message to attendees. Posts from Nigerian accounts describe her as “taking centre stage” and “preaching spiritedly,” marking a visible step in her transition from entertainment into full-time ministry.
This development follows months of public spiritual activity. After a transformative testimony at Pastor Jerry Eze’s Streams of Joy International (NSPPD) and graduation from a discipleship class, Dikeh has shared accounts of deliverance from past struggles, conducted street outreaches, hospital visits, and other evangelistic work. She has increasingly signed posts as “Ada El-Roi” and adopted a more conservative public presentation.
The launch has drawn mixed reactions online, with some celebrating her commitment to ministry and others viewing the move through the lens of her high-profile past. Supporters see it as the fruit of a genuine conversion, while critics remain skeptical of celebrity-led spiritual initiatives.
As of the announcement, New Wine Prophetic Tabernacle positions itself as a space for intense prayer, revival, and training rather than a traditional denominational church. Dikeh’s preaching at the Abuja gatherings signals the start of regular public ministry under the new banner.
