Southern Kaduna Better Positioned to Decide 2027 Polls, APC Group Says

The Director-General of the APC One Million Solidarity Votes Movement in Southern Kaduna, Nathaniel Bagudu Joseph, has said the region is better positioned to play a decisive role in the outcome of the 2027 general elections, expressing confidence that the All Progressives Congress (APC) would secure overwhelming support across the area.

Bagudu spoke at a press conference organised by the APC One Million Solidarity Votes Movement in Kaduna to appreciate Governor Uba Sani for nominating the Chairman of the Kaduna State Internal Revenue Service (KADIRS), Comrade Jerry Adams, as his running mate for the 2027 governorship election.

He described Adams' emergence as a strategic decision that had generated widespread excitement across Southern Kaduna, arguing that the choice had significantly boosted the APC's electoral prospects.

According to him, the nomination has "reduced about 60 per cent of the campaign work" for the party, as many residents have welcomed the decision and are already expressing their readiness to support the APC in the 2027 elections.

"Comrade Jerry Adams' nomination has been widely accepted across Southern Kaduna. It is a strategic choice that has inspired confidence among our people. We believe the decision has already reduced about 60 per cent of the work ahead of us because many people have embraced the ticket," he said.

Bagudu said the Office of the Deputy Governor offers a broader platform for public service than the chairmanship of KADIRS, adding that it presents greater opportunities to contribute to the development of Southern Kaduna, Kaduna State and Nigeria.

He noted that the transition would not affect the operations of KADIRS, stressing that the agency had been strengthened with competent personnel, institutional reforms and efficient systems capable of sustaining its performance.

The APC campaign chief further disclosed that the movement had commenced an extensive grassroots mobilisation campaign aimed at delivering one million votes for the party in Southern Kaduna.

He said mobilisation teams had already visited Jaba, Zangon Kataf and Jema'a Local Government Areas to encourage eligible residents, particularly young people, to register for their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs), adding that the exercise would be extended to other local government areas in the region.

Bagudu also commended Governor Uba Sani's administration for what he described as inclusive governance and improvements in security, saying the achievements had strengthened public confidence in the government.

"As someone from Southern Kaduna, I know the challenges our communities have faced over the years. We have seen improvements in security, and people are beginning to appreciate the efforts of the government. We believe these achievements will translate into overwhelming support for the APC in 2027," he said.

He expressed confidence that Southern Kaduna voters would make their decisions based on the administration's performance, adding that the APC was optimistic of securing a landslide victory in the governorship election.

He urged eligible residents across the region to obtain their Permanent Voter Cards and participate actively in the electoral process to ensure their voices are reflected in the 2027 polls.
