Rep Amos Urges Professionals to seek opportunities beyond Kaduna

The member representing Zango/Jaba Federal Constituency, Hon. Amos Gwamna Magaji, has urged professionals from Southern Kaduna to look beyond their comfort zones and pursue opportunities across Nigeria and abroad, stressing that limiting themselves geographically could hinder their personal and professional growth.

Magaji gave the charge on Wednesday while receiving members of the Southern Kaduna Professionals Forum (SKPF) during a courtesy visit to his official office at in Abuja.

He challenged the professionals to convert perceived disadvantages into strengths through hard work, strategic thinking, continuous learning and unity.

According to the lawmaker, Southern Kaduna has produced a remarkable number of educated and highly skilled professionals, making competition for opportunities within the region increasingly intense.

"Because we have so many qualified people, you must be prepared to work harder and distinguish yourself. What many see as a disadvantage can become your greatest advantage if it pushes you to strive for excellence," he said.

He encouraged young professionals to explore opportunities beyond Kaduna State rather than waiting endlessly for limited openings at home, noting that several sectors across the country require competent professionals.

The federal lawmaker lamented that many qualified youths remain unemployed simply because they are unwilling to relocate, adding that professionals should be prepared to build careers wherever opportunities exist.

Magaji also called on professionals to mentor younger generations, invest in continuous education, acquire professional certifications and build strong networks that would enhance their careers and expand their influence.

He stressed that unity remains Southern Kaduna's greatest asset, urging professionals to reject envy, unhealthy rivalry and division, while celebrating one another's achievements and sharing opportunities that could benefit others.

He further advocated entrepreneurship and vocational skills acquisition, saying dependence on government employment alone could no longer guarantee economic prosperity.

According to him, professionals should understand not only the technical aspects of their careers but also the financial and business dimensions, enabling them to create jobs, build wealth and contribute meaningfully to community development.

The lawmaker reaffirmed his commitment to supporting initiatives that promote education, healthcare, youth empowerment and economic development across Zango/Jaba Federal Constituency and Southern Kaduna as a whole.
