Nigerian-American rapper Ms Jorji has publicly alleged that dancer and entertainer Poco Lee attempted to rape her and her girlfriend in Texas about two years ago.
In videos circulating widely on social media (particularly X/Twitter) on August 18–19, 2026, Ms Jorji (real name Independence Jorji Akuoma) described the incident. She said she was playing a song for Poco Lee while seeking advice on entering the music industry when he allegedly grabbed her private area. She claimed he then groped her girlfriend’s breasts, and when the pair tried to leave, he grabbed her girlfriend and attempted to pull her into a room.
Ms Jorji framed the alleged encounter as occurring while she sought career guidance. In follow-up comments responding to skepticism about her account, she stated that Poco Lee is currently in jail and expressed regret that she had not spoken out earlier, saying she might have prevented harm to another woman she described as now traumatized.
These claims remain allegations only. No police reports, charges, court documents, or independent corroboration of the Texas incident have been publicly confirmed. Separate social media rumors claiming Poco Lee was arrested in the UK on a sexual offence have also circulated but remain unverified by any police force, court record, or established news outlet. Poco Lee (real name Iweh Pascal Odinaka), a well-known Nigerian dancer, hype man, and collaborator in the Afrobeats scene, has not issued a public response to Ms Jorji’s specific claims as of the latest available information.
Ms Jorji is a Texas-based Nigerian rapper and Afro-trap artist (she has described herself as a pioneer of the style blending Nigerian melodies with American trap elements). Born in Nigeria and raised partly in the US, she previously worked in engineering before focusing on music; she has released tracks and performed in both Nigeria and the US. Poco Lee rose to prominence through viral dance performances and industry connections in Nigeria’s entertainment scene.
The allegations have drawn significant online attention and mixed reactions, with some users treating them as serious and others questioning their timing or veracity. As with any unproven claim of this nature, the accounts represent one side’s statement; no formal legal determination has been made.
