Kaduna condemns border attack, orders manhunt for killers

The Kaduna State Government has condemned the killing of several persons in Naridon Village, Kamaru Ward of Kauru Local Government Area, following an attack on the border community between Kaduna and Plateau states.

The government described the attack, which also left property destroyed, as unfortunate and directed security agencies to intensify efforts to arrest those responsible.

In a statement on Monday, the Commissioner for Information, Ahmed Maiyaki, said Governor Uba Sani had expressed deep sorrow over the incident and extended his condolences to the families of the victims.

He said the governor also prayed for the repose of the souls of those killed and wished those injured a speedy recovery.

Maiyaki disclosed that the governor had directed the Kaduna State Emergency Management Agency (KADSEMA) to provide immediate relief and humanitarian assistance to families affected by the attack.

"The Kaduna State Government strongly condemns the attack and has directed security agencies to intensify operations to apprehend the perpetrators and bring them to justice," the statement said.

The commissioner said the state government would continue to work closely with the Plateau State Government, security agencies, traditional rulers and other stakeholders to strengthen security collaboration along the Kaduna-Plateau border.

He said the partnership was aimed at restoring lasting peace and ensuring the protection of lives and property in border communities.

Maiyaki urged residents to remain calm, vigilant and law-abiding, while encouraging them to support security agencies with credible information that could help prevent further attacks.

He also appealed to communities to reject violence and embrace dialogue as a means of resolving disputes.

According to him, the Kaduna State Government remains committed to safeguarding lives and sustaining peace, security and social harmony across the state.
