Jerry Adams Woos Southern Kaduna for Tinubu, Uba Sani Ahead of 2027

The former Chairman of the Kaduna State Internal Revenue Service, Jerry Adams, has urged the people of Southern Kaduna and the Christian community to support President Bola Tinubu and Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani, ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Adams, who is Governor Uba Sani’s running mate for the 2027 election, made the appeal through the Senior Advocate of Nigeria and Principal Partner of Gatekeepers Consult, Samuel Atung, who represented him as Father of the Day at the 31st Choral Convention 2026 held at ECWA Church, Narayi High-Cost, Kaduna.

The convention, organised jointly by the Non-Denominational Christian Association of Nigeria and the Christian Association of Nigeria, was held with the theme, “Let Your Light Shine.”

Atung said the call for continued support for the Tinubu and Uba Sani administrations was based on what he described as their demonstration of respect, inclusion and opportunities for the people of Southern Kaduna and Kaduna State.

He urged the people to reciprocate the gesture by supporting leaders who, according to him, had demonstrated commitment to their development.

“We have to show them that we are people who appreciate. If they have shown us respect and carried us along, then we should also reciprocate by giving them our bulk votes in 2027,” Atung said.

He commended Governor Uba Sani for what he described as an inclusive approach to governance, particularly his administration’s infrastructure interventions across the state.

The SAN also urged the people of Southern Kaduna to look beyond partisan sentiments and assess political leaders based on their performance, capacity and tangible contributions to their communities.

Atung specifically described Senator Sunday Marshall Katung as a good choice for Southern Kaduna, citing his legislative interventions and contributions to the development of the region.

He called on the Christian community and residents of Southern Kaduna to remain united and strategically engage in the political process ahead of the 2027 elections.

Atung said the people should use their votes to consolidate development and support leaders who had demonstrated commitment to their welfare.

It would be recalled that the nomination of Adams as Uba Sani’s running mate was greeted with widespread jubilation in parts of Southern Kaduna and among sections of the Christian community.

The development was particularly significant to many Christians in the region, coming after the controversy that surrounded the Muslim-Muslim ticket adopted by the administration of former Governor Nasir El-Rufai.

For some Christian communities in Southern Kaduna, Adams’ emergence was seen as a major political shift and a sign of greater inclusion under the Uba Sani administration.

Some residents have also contrasted the current administration’s approach to Southern Kaduna with that of its predecessor, which they accused of marginalising or treating the region with disdain. The perception has continued to shape political discussions in the region ahead of the 2027 elections.

Meanwhile, the annual choral convention attracted Christian participants from various parts of Kaduna State and featured praise, worship and thanksgiving.
