INEC Publishes Tinubu, Obi, Atiku’s Credentials

Among those whose credentials were published are President Bola Tinubu, the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), and his running mate, Vice President Kashim Shettima.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has published the personal particulars and credentials of candidates contesting the 2027 presidential and National Assembly elections for public inspection across the country.

The documents were displayed on Saturday at INEC offices nationwide in line with the commission's timetable for the 2027 general election.

Among those whose credentials were published are President Bola Tinubu, the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), and his running mate, Vice President Kashim Shettima.

The commission also published the particulars of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) presidential candidate, Peter Obi, and his running mate, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso.

Similarly, the credentials of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), and his running mate, former Rivers State Governor Rotimi Amaechi, were made available for public scrutiny.

The published documents contain candidates' personal information, academic qualifications and other credentials submitted to the electoral commission as part of the nomination process.

INEC also displayed the particulars of candidates seeking election into the Senate and House of Representatives at its relevant state and constituency offices across the country.

The exercise is a statutory step in the electoral process, allowing members of the public to examine the documents and raise any objections in accordance with the provisions of the Electoral Act before the elections.
