August 9, 2026–Exactly one year after its release, Gunna’s infectious collaboration “WGFT” featuring Burna Boy remains one of the standout tracks from the Atlanta rapper’s sixth studio album The Last Wun. The song, released as part of the project on August 8, 2025, has achieved significant commercial success and cultural impact, blending Gunna’s melodic trap sound with Burna Boy’s signature Afro-fusion flair.
“WGFT” — an acronym for “We Gettin’ Fucked Tonight” (often censored for radio as “She Goin’ Up Tonight”) — was sent to U.S. rhythmic radio as the album’s third and final single. Produced primarily by Turbo (with additional work from Shottie), the moody, piano-driven track quickly became the most-streamed song from The Last Wun, amassing around 287 million Spotify streams, tens of millions on YouTube, and strong numbers on other platforms.
The song earned certifications including Gold in the UK, Platinum in Nigeria, and Platinum in New Zealand. It peaked at No. 16 on the Billboard Hot 100, No. 5 on Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs, and No. 22 on the UK Singles Chart (No. 2 on UK Hip Hop/R&B). It also performed strongly in Nigeria (No. 18), South Africa, and other international territories.
Critics praised the cross-continental chemistry. Billboard’s Mackenzie Cummings-Grady called Burna Boy’s verse a highlight, noting it brought “a much-needed dose of Afro flair” despite its brevity, while HotNewHipHop highlighted its “moody sensuality.” The official music video, directed by Spike Jordan and filmed in London, amplified the track’s sultry, hedonistic vibe with bold visuals including pole dancing, symbolic imagery, and club scenes featuring both artists.
The Last Wun, Gunna’s final project under YSL Records/300 Entertainment, debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard 200. It featured other notable guests like Offset, Wizkid, and Asake, marking a transitional chapter for the rapper following his earlier successes. “WGFT” emerged as a key driver of the album’s longevity, later receiving a remix with Chris Brown in January 2026.
Fans and industry observers continue to celebrate the track’s anniversary on social media, with many calling it a career highlight for both artists and a prime example of successful genre-blending. As streams keep climbing and its presence lingers on playlists worldwide, “WGFT” stands as a testament to Gunna’s global appeal and Burna Boy’s ongoing influence as one of Africa’s biggest exports.
One year later, the party anthem shows no signs of slowing down.
