Since assuming office, His Excellency Senator Uba Sani, CON, Governor of Kaduna State, has pursued an ambitious governance agenda aimed at accelerating infrastructure development, strengthening public institutions, enhancing security, expanding social welfare, and creating sustainable economic opportunities. According to the author, the administration's achievements reflect a comprehensive approach to governance that prioritizes inclusive development and improved quality of life for the people of Kaduna State.

STRENGTHENING HEALTHCARE INFRASTRUCTURE

One of the administration's flagship initiatives has been the revitalization of the healthcare sector. Sixteen General Hospitals across Kaduna State have been refurbished and equipped with modern medical facilities to improve access to quality healthcare. In addition, Primary Healthcare Centres have been upgraded to Level II standards, significantly enhancing healthcare delivery at the grassroots level.

To complement these investments, the government has recruited thousands of healthcare professionals, expanding the state's capacity to provide efficient and accessible medical services to its growing population.

Recognizing that a motivated workforce is essential to quality healthcare delivery, the Uba Sani administration has also improved the welfare of healthcare personnel by increasing the salaries of health workers and medical doctors, as well as enhancing hazard allowances. These measures are intended to improve staff welfare, boost morale, strengthen workforce retention, and enhance the quality of healthcare services across Kaduna State.

ADVANCING QUALITY EDUCATION

The administration has also prioritized education as a foundation for sustainable development. Numerous primary schools across Kaduna State have been constructed and renovated to provide a safer and more conducive learning environment.

Recognizing the financial challenges facing many families, the government has reduced tuition fees for students in state-owned tertiary institutions while expanding scholarship programmes to support academic excellence and reduce the burden on parents and guardians.

INFRASTRUCTURE AND TRANSPORTATION DEVELOPMENT

Infrastructure development has remained central to Governor Uba Sani's economic transformation strategy. Major road construction and rehabilitation projects are ongoing across Kaduna State, improving connectivity between urban and rural communities while stimulating commerce and investment.

The government has also modernized transportation infrastructure by upgrading bus terminals to improve passenger safety and operational efficiency. A free bus transportation programme for workers and residents has provided significant financial relief to citizens, reducing transportation costs and generating substantial economic savings.

Among the landmark projects associated with the administration are the construction of an international bus terminal and efforts supporting the development of a modern rail transportation system expected to strengthen Kaduna's position as a regional economic hub.

AGRICULTURAL TRANSFORMATION AND FOOD SECURITY

Agriculture has received renewed attention through policies designed to boost productivity and strengthen food security. The administration has distributed free fertilizers to thousands of smallholder farmers across the state while implementing programmes that, according to the author, exceed the aspirations outlined in the Malabo Declaration on agricultural development.

Modernization of slaughterhouses to international standards, alongside improvements in livestock development and regulatory frameworks, demonstrates the government's commitment to strengthening the agricultural value chain.

ENHANCING SECURITY AND PEACEBUILDING

Security remains one of the defining priorities of the administration. Through strategic investments in logistics and operational support for security agencies, the Kaduna State Government has reinforced efforts to protect lives and property.

The strengthening of the Kaduna Vigilance Service (KADVIS) through professional training, procurement of modern equipment, and the recruitment of thousands of forest guards reflects a proactive approach to addressing emerging security challenges.

Complementing these initiatives are peacebuilding programmes that promote social harmony and strengthen collaboration between government, traditional institutions, and local communities.

HUMAN CAPITAL DEVELOPMENT AND SOCIAL INCLUSION

Governor Uba Sani's administration has implemented several programmes aimed at reducing poverty and promoting inclusive growth. Social intervention initiatives have focused on supporting vulnerable populations, empowering women and young people, and assisting individuals affected by economic hardship.

Skills Acquisition Centres established across Kaduna State are equipping thousands of youths with vocational and entrepreneurial skills, creating pathways to employment, self-reliance, and economic empowerment.

The administration has also provided assistance to citizens affected by previous reforms, offering support to individuals who experienced losses of employment or property while promoting an environment that emphasizes fairness, inclusion, and social justice.

ENVIRONMENTAL SUSTAINABILITY

Recognizing the importance of environmental stewardship, the government has undertaken environmental restoration programmes across Kaduna State. Tree-planting campaigns, natural resource conservation initiatives, and land degradation control measures form part of a broader commitment to building climate resilience and ensuring environmental sustainability for future generations.

In addition, the administration has commenced multi-billion-naira gully erosion control and environmental remediation projects at several locations across Kaduna State. These interventions are designed to protect vulnerable communities, preserve critical infrastructure, mitigate environmental degradation, and strengthen the state's resilience against the adverse effects of climate change.

STRENGTHENING LOCAL GOVERNANCE AND TRADITIONAL INSTITUTIONS

According to the author, the administration has promoted local government autonomy by ensuring that Local Government Councils receive their statutory allocations without undue interference. This approach has been publicly acknowledged by the leadership of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON) in Kaduna State.

The government has also maintained cordial relationships with traditional institutions, recognizing their important role in promoting peace, cultural preservation, and community development.

Furthermore, billions of naira have reportedly been paid in pensions and retirement benefits, reaffirming the administration's commitment to the welfare of retired public servants.

STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIPS AND INVESTMENT PROMOTION

The Kaduna State Government has strengthened collaboration with the Federal Government, development partners, and international organizations to attract investment and accelerate infrastructure development.

Among the major initiatives highlighted by the author is the Kaduna–Birnin Gwari road project, alongside infrastructure support provided to Federal Government institutions, including universities and colleges, through road construction and the provision of critical facilities and equipment.

According to the author, the Uba Sani administration has also attracted both domestic and international investors who have committed hundreds of millions of United States dollars toward the establishment of agricultural industrial hubs in Kaduna State. These investments are expected to enhance agricultural productivity, promote value addition, stimulate agro-processing industries, generate employment opportunities, strengthen food security, and position Kaduna as one of Nigeria's leading destinations for agribusiness investment.

These collaborative efforts are intended to enhance Kaduna State's competitiveness as an attractive destination for investment, industrialization, education, and economic growth.

A VISION FOR THE FUTURE

In the author's assessment, Governor Uba Sani's first term has been characterized by bold leadership, strategic planning, and a commitment to people-centred governance. The administration's investments in healthcare, education, security, infrastructure, agriculture, environmental sustainability, and human capital development are presented as evidence of an integrated vision for the state's long-term prosperity.

The author further argues that these accomplishments represent an exceptional record of public service and notes that they have received commendation from prominent national leaders during public engagements.

As Kaduna State continues its development journey, the author calls on citizens, stakeholders, and development partners to sustain their support, prayers, and constructive engagement in advancing the administration's vision. The article also expresses support for His Excellency Senator Uba Sani, CON, His Excellency President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, and candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the 2027 general elections.
