Gov Sani Reaffirms Commitment to Community-Based Security in Kaduna

Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani, has reaffirmed his administration's commitment to community-driven security initiatives as part of efforts to strengthen peace, protect lives and safeguard livelihoods across the state.

The governor's position was conveyed by the Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Dr. Sule Shu’aibu (SAN), during the Kaduna State Security Sector Stakeholders Engagement organised by the Headquarters 1 Division Nigerian Army, Sector I Joint Task Force Operation Fansan Yamma.

The stakeholders' engagement, themed "Joint Action for a Safe Environment: Security Agencies and Communities Working Together," brought together security personnel, government officials, traditional leaders and community representatives to deliberate on emerging security challenges, particularly those associated with the rainy season.

Speaking on behalf of Governor Sani, the commissioner stressed that sustainable peace and security could only be achieved through stronger collaboration among security agencies, traditional institutions, farmers, herders, civil society organisations and local communities.

He noted that security is a shared responsibility that requires active participation from all stakeholders, adding that effective intelligence gathering and timely information sharing remain critical in addressing criminal activities and preventing conflicts.

According to him, the Kaduna State Government will continue to support initiatives that promote peaceful coexistence, strengthen community resilience and enhance cooperation between citizens and security agencies.

He further assured residents of the administration's unwavering commitment to protecting lives and property while sustaining ongoing efforts aimed at maintaining peace and stability across all parts of the state.

The engagement also provided a platform for stakeholders to exchange ideas, review existing security strategies and explore practical measures for improving safety and security within communities.

Participants at the event emphasized the importance of trust, dialogue and collective action in confronting security threats and fostering a safer environment for all residents of Kaduna State.
