Funke Akindele Unveils Star-Studded Cast for New Movie ‘The Four’

Nollywood powerhouse Funke Akindele has announced her next major film, The Four: No One Fights Alone, set for a global cinema release on 11 December 2026.

The emotionally charged drama centres on four women led by Esosa, who fight to protect the future of a young man they love. The story explores friendship, motherhood, resilience, loyalty and sacrifice, moving between the quiet Odu Community and the bustling city. It also highlights Nigerian culture through music, fashion, language and tradition.

Akindele wrote, directed and produced the film under her Funke Akindele Network (FAAN), with distribution by FilmOne Entertainment. She stars alongside a high-profile ensemble that includes:

The cast also features Afrobeats star Shoday, as well as Samuel Banks, Kolapo Omotosho, Ayomide Iwasokun and several other familiar faces.

Akindele described the project as one that reflects the stories audiences now expect: “Audiences have grown with us over the years, and they expect stories that entertain while reflecting who we are.”

The December release continues her strong run of festive-season blockbusters and comes after a series of commercially successful films. With its star-studded lineup and focus on female solidarity, The Four is already generating significant anticipation ahead of its cinema debut.
