EFCC Re-Arraigns Blessing CEO Over Alleged N13m Cancer Fundraising Fraud

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has re-arraigned controversial relationship coach and social media personality, Blessing CEO, over allegations of fraud linked to a cancer fundraising scheme.

Blessing CEO was brought before the Federal High Court in Ikoyi, Lagos, on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, on a fresh six-count charge bordering on obtaining money by false pretence and retaining proceeds allegedly derived from fraudulent activities.

According to the EFCC, the charges stem from allegations that she obtained approximately N13 million from members of the public after claiming she was battling Stage 4 breast cancer and soliciting financial assistance for treatment.

The anti-graft agency said the case followed petitions submitted by several individuals and organisations, including the Nigeria Cancer Society, questioning the authenticity of her claims.

In a statement posted on its Instagram page, the EFCC alleged that donors contributed funds based on her public appeals but later discovered that the cancer diagnosis documents she presented had been falsified.

"The petitioners allegedly made donations to the defendant after her posts claiming that she was battling Stage 4 breast cancer. She was, however, later discovered to have allegedly falsified the document she presented to members of the public," the commission stated.

The latest arraignment comes less than 24 hours after Blessing CEO was separately arraigned over an alleged N69.1 million tenancy fraud case.

The defendant pleaded not guilty to the charges, while the court adjourned proceedings for the commencement of trial.
