DSS Rescues Four Abducted Zamfara Students

The Department of State Services (DSS) has rescued the remaining four students of the Federal Polytechnic, Kaura Namoda, Zamfara State, who were abducted from their off-campus residence on June 2.

The students, comprising three males and one female, regained their freedom late Wednesday following a coordinated rescue operation by security operatives.

Their release brings to an end weeks of uncertainty over the fate of the victims, whose abduction had sparked widespread concern among students, parents and residents of the state.

Although details of the operation were not immediately disclosed, security sources said the students were rescued unharmed and are receiving medical attention before being reunited with their families.

The successful operation underscores ongoing efforts by security agencies to combat kidnapping and restore safety in Zamfara, one of the states hardest hit by banditry and violent crime.

Authorities are yet to issue an official statement on whether any suspects were arrested or if further operations are underway.
