“I also call on all those who contested the election and emerged on the losing side to join hands with the Governor in the spirit of sportsmanship and work for the peace and development of Osun State,”
The National Leader of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Seriake Dickson, has said the outcome of the Osun State governorship election demonstrated that Nigerians can still determine who governs them through the ballot.
Dickson, in a statement posted on his verified X handle on Sunday, congratulated Governor Ademola Adeleke on his re-election, describing the victory as significant to both the people of Osun State and Nigeria’s democracy.
He said the election was a reminder that, despite the increasingly challenging political environment, Nigerians could still assert their democratic will through the ballot.
“I warmly congratulate the Governor of Osun State, His Excellency Senator Ademola Adeleke, on his victory in the Osun State governorship election.
“His victory shows that Nigerians can still decide who governs them. I commend the people of Osun State for standing firm in defence of their democratic choice,” Dickson said.
He also urged candidates who lost the election to accept the outcome in the spirit of sportsmanship and support the governor in promoting peace and development across the state.
“I also call on all those who contested the election and emerged on the losing side to join hands with the Governor in the spirit of sportsmanship and work for the peace and development of Osun State,” he added.
