Charles Okocha Defeats Portable by Disqualification at Chaos in the Ring Rematch

Nollywood actor Charles Okocha finally got his revenge against street-pop singer Portable on Friday night, July 31, 2026, winning their highly anticipated celebrity boxing rematch by disqualification after a chaotic first round.

The bout, billed as “Unfinished Business,” headlined the latest edition of Chaos in the Ring at the Balmoral Convention Centre, Federal Palace Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos. The event was streamed live on DAZN.

The contest began with both men exchanging punches, but it quickly descended into disorder. Portable clinched Okocha and took him to the canvas. The referee and security personnel stepped in to separate them as tensions escalated inside the ring. After the first round ended, Portable walked out of the ring and left the arena area. He later returned briefly, arguing that the takedown meant he had won. Officials disagreed. They ruled that Portable had abandoned the bout and declared Charles Okocha the winner by disqualification.

There was no conventional scoring because the fight never progressed beyond the opening round.

The pair first clashed in December 2023 at Landmark Beach, Victoria Island, after a public dispute over an alleged unpaid business deal. Portable was declared the winner of that four-round contest. Okocha disputed the result, activated a rematch clause, and waited more than two years for the chance to settle the score.

The build-up to the rematch featured the same fiery exchanges that defined their rivalry. Both men traded threats at press conferences and face-offs. Okocha predicted Portable would not last beyond two rounds, while Portable insisted he would repeat his earlier victory. Okocha prepared with heavyweight boxer Moses Itauma, while Portable trained under Taiwo “Esehpo” Agbaje. The rematch also came after Portable suffered his first celebrity boxing loss earlier in 2026, when comedian Carter Efe defeated him by unanimous decision.

The result levels their personal series at one win each. Okocha celebrated the victory and the long-sought bragging rights. For Portable, the night marked a second consecutive defeat in the celebrity boxing circuit and another chapter of controversy.

True to the name of the event, the Portable–Okocha rematch delivered pure chaos, that was short, dramatic, and unforgettable. Fans left debating the abrupt ending, while both entertainers ensured the rivalry remains very much alive.
