Baba Orobo Accuses Nasboi of Undervaluing Years of Collaboration

Nigerian comedian Baba Orobo, whose real name is Usman Taye (also known as Angel Baba Orobo), has publicly called out popular skit maker, content creator, and singer Nasboi over what he describes as years of undervalued collaboration and poor treatment.

In a seven-minute video that has gone viral, Baba Orobo claimed their professional relationship began in 2022. He alleged that he frequently worked with Nasboi on skits and projects, often receiving little or no pay — sometimes just ₦10,000 for transport or nothing at all.

The situation reportedly reached a breaking point during a ₦200,000 AY Live gig when Baba Orobo requested accommodation. According to him, Nasboi’s response was dismissive, allegedly telling the comedian that he “doesn’t have value.” This remark, Baba Orobo said, deeply hurt him and strained their relationship

The comedian used the video to highlight broader issues in Nigeria’s content creation and skit-making industry, including informal agreements, lack of proper contracts, and inadequate compensation for supporting talents.

The video has sparked mixed reactions online. Some users sympathized with Baba Orobo, criticizing the exploitative tendencies common in the industry, while others advised both parties to settle the matter privately. As of now, Nasboi has not issued a public response to the accusations.
