APC Unveils Osun Campaign Council, Picks Uzodimma to Lead

The party announced the appointments in a statement issued on Sunday by its National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, stating that the council will be inaugurated on Tuesday, July 28, at the Transcorp Hilton Event Centre in Abuja.
The All Progressives Congress (APC) has constituted its National Campaign Council and a series of strategic sub-committees ahead of the August 15, 2026, governorship election in Osun State, appointing Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma as chairman of the campaign council.
The party announced the appointments in a statement issued on Sunday by its National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, stating that the council will be inaugurated on Tuesday, July 28, at the Transcorp Hilton Event Centre in Abuja.
Uzodimma, who also chairs the Progressive Governors' Forum, will lead the campaign council, with Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni, Senate President Godswill Akpabio and Speaker of the House of Representatives Tajudeen Abbas serving as co-chairmen.
The APC also named Ibrahim Kabir Masari, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Political and Other Matters, as deputy chairman, while Deputy Senate President Barau Jibrin will serve as secretary.
According to the party, the council brings together governors, members of the National Working Committee (NWC), principal officers of the National Assembly, ministers, federal and state lawmakers, and other party stakeholders to coordinate its campaign strategy for the Osun governorship poll.
To strengthen campaign operations, the APC also established specialised sub-committees covering election planning and management, finance and resource mobilisation, grassroots mobilisation, logistics, monitoring and compliance, protocol, media and publicity, security, youth mobilisation, mobilisation of persons with disabilities, women's mobilisation, and secretariat functions.
The party said the inauguration of the campaign council and the various committees will take place at noon on Tuesday, July 28, in Abuja, as it intensifies preparations for the governorship election scheduled for August 15, 2026.
