Adeleke: Victory Is for God, Osun People

“There is no victor, no vanquished,” Adeleke said, extending an olive branch to his co-contestants and declaring, “I am the Governor of all.”

Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has dedicated his re-election victory to God and the people of the state, pledging to use his second term to accelerate development and deepen good governance.

Adeleke, in a statement posted on his verified X handle on Sunday, after the election, expressed gratitude to God and the people of Osun for renewing their confidence in his administration, promising not to disappoint them.

He commended the electorate for their resilience, courage and commitment to democracy, while calling on all Osun residents to embrace peace, forgiveness and unity following the election.

“There is no victor, no vanquished,” Adeleke said, extending an olive branch to his co-contestants and declaring, “I am the Governor of all.”

The governor also observed a minute of silence in honour of victims of pre-election violence, describing their deaths as needless. He urged traditional rulers, community leaders and other stakeholders to lead efforts toward healing and reconciliation across the state.

Adeleke pledged to consolidate the gains of his administration, address its shortcomings and build on the progress recorded during his first term.

“Osun is on the march again,” he said, promising to accelerate development, widen the reach of good governance and pursue his administration’s vision of transforming Osun from a civil service state into an industrial state and a preferred investment destination.

The governor also thanked President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his support for a free and fair election, while commending lovers of democracy in Nigeria and abroad, particularly the media, for their role in strengthening democratic values.
