2027: My Nomination Is a Collective Victory, Says Adams

Comrd. Jerry Adams, the deputy governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress in Kaduna State, has described his nomination as the running mate to Governor Uba Sani for the 2027 governorship election as "a collective victory" for the people of Kaduna State, pledging to serve with humility, competence and a commitment to inclusive governance.

Adams stated this in a statement issued on Wednesday following his acceptance of the nomination, expressing profound gratitude to Governor Uba Sani for finding him worthy of the position.

He said the nomination was not a personal achievement but a testament to the collective aspirations, prayers and support of the people of Kaduna State, particularly those from Southern Kaduna.

"I accept this nomination with a heart full of gratitude. Since the announcement, I have been genuinely overwhelmed by the calls, messages, visits and prayers from every corner of Kaduna State and beyond.

"I have struggled to respond to even a fraction of the goodwill extended to me. To everyone who has reached out, whether family, friends or even strangers who now feel like family, I sincerely appreciate you. Though I may not have replied individually, every message has reached my heart," Adams said.

The APC deputy governorship candidate thanked Governor Uba Sani for the confidence reposed in him, describing the governor as a leader who has consistently demonstrated commitment to justice, equity and inclusion since assuming office in May 2023.

"I receive this nomination first as an act of faith placed in me by a Governor whose commitment to justice, equity and inclusion has remained unwavering. I thank His Excellency for seeing in me someone worthy of this responsibility, and I pray daily for the wisdom and strength to justify that confidence," he stated.

Adams further said the nomination belonged to all residents of Kaduna State, stressing that it reflected the people's unwavering belief that every part of the state has valuable contributions to make to governance.

"My nomination is a collective victory. It belongs to every resident of Kaduna State as much as it belongs to me. It is the product of your patience, your prayers and your confidence that our people have something meaningful to contribute to the progress of this state.

"I carry your hopes with humility, not as a privilege to be enjoyed, but as a responsibility to be fulfilled," he added.

He also acknowledged the role of traditional rulers in fostering peace and stability across communities, describing them as custodians of wisdom whose guidance has remained invaluable through difficult times.

The deputy governorship candidate equally commended religious leaders, particularly the Christian Association of Nigeria and the Jama'atu Nasril Islam, for promoting peaceful coexistence, dialogue and religious harmony in Kaduna State.

According to him, Kaduna's greatest strength lies in its diversity and the willingness of its people to unite despite ethnic and religious differences.

Adams pledged to work closely with Governor Uba Sani to consolidate the administration's achievements and deliver more dividends of democracy to the people if elected in 2027.

He assured residents that he would bring competence, sincerity and selfless service to the task of governance while working to deepen peace, expand prosperity and ensure fairness for every citizen.

"Together with our ever-committed Governor, and with God's guidance, we will continue to build a Kaduna State that is peaceful, prosperous and fair to every one of its people," Adams said.
